What it is
A PDE5 inhibitor, like sildenafil, but one the body clears far more slowly. A single dose can still be working a day and a half later. That long window is the whole reason it is prescribed instead.
How it helps
- Works the same way as sildenafil, increasing blood flow in response to arousal
- Holds its effect far longer, which is why it is sometimes called the weekend option
- Can be prescribed as a small daily dose or taken only before activity
- Also prescribed for the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate

Common considerations
- Possible headache, flushing or indigestion
- Possible back or muscle ache, usually in the first day or two
